The flower of Palash is called the flower of Tesu. It is also called Dhaka. It blooms in spring. There are 3 types of Palash - one in which white flowers grow and the other in which yellow flowers appear and the third one in which red-orange flowers appear. Palash's leaves, dangal, pods and even the root are of great importance. The leaves of Palash are used by the villagers to make Doe-Pattal, while the colors of Holi are made from its flowers. However, grinding its flowers and applying it on the face increases the glow. Palash beans act as anthelmintic. Its use also keeps old age away. Heat can be driven away by the use of its flower, as well as it is beneficial in skin related diseases
